HES New Staff Members
HES is excited to introduce our new staff members over the summer weeks! Stay tuned as we welcome each of them to the HES family.

As many of you may have heard, we are adding a 4th section to Kindergarten. Today we are welcoming Mrs. McAdams to our Kindergarten team!

My name is Julie McAdams, and I am so excited to be joining the Heritage family! I was born and raised in Oklahoma and attended college at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. After graduation I moved to Texas to begin my career as an educator and just concluded my 15th year in education. I have been a part of the GCISD family for the past 12 years teaching third and first grade at Timberline Elementary, and I am now ready to begin a new chapter at Heritage and meet my kindergarten friends!

Most of my free time is spent with my family and friends. I have a supportive husband and a three and five year old daughter (also future Eagles) that bring me much joy. One of my favorite hobbies is scrapbooking, and I am often seen carrying my “fancy” camera around to capture moments.
As a kindergarten teacher at Heritage, I hope to instill a love of learning and grow social and emotional development in each of my students. I look forward to being a part of and getting to know my students, parents, and others in the community. Thank you in advance for your support... I can’t wait to SOAR along with you!

Mr. Westbrook

My name is Austin Westbrook and this upcoming year will be my first year as an official elementary school teacher. I could not be more excited! I am from Watauga, Texas and I went to school at the University of North Texas. I am a huge sports fan and love all of the Dallas teams. The Dallas Mavericks are my favorite! I am engaged to my girlfriend, Jasmine Broom, of ten years! A fun fact about me is that I am a foodie at heart, I love trying new foods and I enjoy cooking new foods that I have not tried before. I am most excited about this year at HES to get to know my students and families!

Here is our next new staff member to introduce! Stay tuned as we welcome each of them to the HES family. Today we are welcoming Mrs. Beierschmitt to our Pre K team!

Mrs. Beierschmitt and Family

My name is Julie Beierschmitt, and I am one of the new Pre-K teachers at Heritage Elementary. This will be my very first year of teaching, and I could not be more thrilled that I get to experience it here with you all! I am originally from small town Enid, Oklahoma and I attended college at The University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, OK. I now live in Grapevine, with my family: Justin, Jaxon, Myles and our dog, Norman. My boys, Jaxon and Myles, are Heritage Eagles and will be in 2nd grade next year. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing games and watching movies. I am beyond excited about the upcoming school year because Heritage is such an amazing place to be. The staff, as well as the students and their families, are top notch; having this opportunity means the world to me. I cannot wait to meet each and every one of you, it’s going to be an amazing year!

Here is our next new staff member to introduce! Stay tuned as we welcome each of them to the HES family. Today we are welcoming Mrs. Short to our 4th-grade team!

Mrs. Short

My name is Sumner Short! I was born and raised in Midland, Texas. I graduated from college about a month ago from the University of Arkansas, where I met my husband! We got married a week after graduation! In my spare time, I enjoy being outside! Hiking, hammocking, rock climbing, being on the lake, or really anything that involves being outside! The thing I'm most excited about for the upcoming school year is starting my career as a teacher! I am so excited to meet my students and become part of the HES family!

HES is excited to introduce our new staff member over the summer weeks! Stay tuned as we welcome each of them to the HES family. Today we are welcoming Mrs. Watson to our 2nd Grade team!

Ms. Watson

Hello everyone! My name is Kendall Watson and I’m overjoyed to be apart of the 2nd-grade team at Heritage Elementary!
I was born and raised in Fort Worth but moved out to Lubbock 8 years ago to attend Texas Tech University (Wreck ‘Em!). After graduating, I’ve been teaching in Lubbock for the past 4 years. There I taught special education for 2 years and 2nd grade for 2 years. In 2017, I graduated with my Masters of Education in Guidance and Counseling from Angelo State University. My sweet dog, Cooper, and I are so excited to be closer to family and make the move back to DFW. When I’m not teaching I love cheering on my Red Raiders at football games, exploring the outdoors with Cooper, traveling to new places and spending quality time with family and friends. I can’t wait for all the memories and learning that will happen during this upcoming school year. I’m so excited to be part of the Heritage family and community!

Today we are welcoming Mrs. Stine to our 1st-grade team!

Mrs. Stine and Family

My name is Ann Stine and I’m super excited to be teaching first grade for the upcoming school year! I was an Army brat growing up and moved every two years as a kid. I attended four different elementary schools, lived in Germany during middle school and went to high school in San Antonio. I spent the last few years teaching in preschool while pursuing my degree. I received my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas Woman’s University in 2018. Last school year, I was one of the pre-k paraprofessionals at Heritage. My husband and I have been married for ten years and have two daughters who will attend first and fourth grade at Heritage this coming school year. In my spare time, I love game night, reading, watching football (Go Packers) and trying new restaurants with friends. I love Heritage and I am very excited to be part of the fabulous first-grade team!
