Sherry Keith

My name is Sherry Keith.  I was born and raised in sunny Southern California.  I attended the University of San Diego and earned a Bachelor's degree in Spanish.  After graduating from USD, I attended National University and earned my teaching certificate, along with a Master's in Cross-Cultural Education.   I hold a certification in English as a Second Language.  I am also certified to teach Multisensory Teaching Approach (MTA).

This is my 20th year in GCISD.   I formerly taught Elementary Spanish at Heritage and O.C. Taylor but, in 2011, I transitioned to the classroom.  I taught first grade for 3 years and second grade for 6 years. During the 2020-2021, I followed my passion for reading and became a Literacy Interventionist.  I absolutely LOVE helping students with regard to reading!

About My Family and Me
My husband, Robert, and I have just celebrated our 20th anniversary.   We have three daughters:  one is a Senior at CHHS, one is a Freshman at CHHS, and one is in 5th grade here at HES.  This is a BIG year for us, as you can see!  We are very busy but, in my spare time, I enjoy crafting, reading, singing, shopping, and laughing (a LOT!).

Aside from all of that, my passion is teaching.  I love to teach and I cannot wait for this year to unfold!   Your children and I are going to have a lot of fun learning this year and I am so excited! If you ever have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me by email or by phone.
