Administrative Appointments for Erin Gerdes: Principal of Colleyville Elementary, Heather Landrum: Principal of Silver Lake Elementary, Josh Cassada: Principal of Grapevine Middle School, Mandy Alexander: Principal of iUniversity Prep, and Desiree Weiche: Director of iUniversity Prep and Virtual Learning

GCISD is excited to announce the following administrative appointments ahead of the 2026-2027 school year. 

Erin Gerdes, Principal of Colleyville Elementary School
Gerdes is the current principal at Bransford Elementary, a campus she has led since 2020. She began her career in Carroll ISD as a special education teacher, then joined GCISD in 2000, where she taught first, second and third grades at Silver Lake Elementary. She also has experience as an elementary instructional coach in the technology department, and assistant principal at Heritage Elementary. 

Heather Landrum, Principal of Silver Lake Elementary School
Landrum has 25 years of experience in public education, with the last 11 of those spent in the district. In GCISD, she has served as a student support specialist at Dove Elementary, assistant principal of Grapevine Elementary, and for the last nine years, principal at Dove Elementary. Prior to joining the district, she taught second, fifth and seventh grades, and was an assistant principal in Hillsboro ISD.

Josh Cassada, Principal of Grapevine Middle School
Cassada has served as the principal of Colleyville Elementary School since 2023. He also has experience as an assistant principal at Colleyville Middle School and Jackie Mae Townsell Elementary in Irving ISD, a special education math and ELAR academic specialist, an ESL teacher and a math teacher. Before his career in public education, Mr. Cassada served five years of active duty in the United States Marine Corps, where he was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.

Mandy Alexander, Principal of iUniversity Prep
Alexander is currently in her fourth year as principal at Grapevine Middle School, with the last eleven years spent in GCISD as an educator, instructional coach, learning liaison, and associate principal. She began her career in 1998 as a classroom teacher in Atkins, Arkansas, and served in various roles, including drill team director, elementary teacher, middle school teacher, and high school teacher.

Desiree Weiche, Director of iUniversity Prep and Virtual Learning
Weiche has been with iUniversity Prep since 2016, first as a virtual instructor in the areas of art, biology and health, then as dean of instruction, and most recently, principal. Prior to joining iUniversity Prep, Weiche taught science at Arlington Heights High School in Fort Worth ISD. In this new role, she will continue to support iUniversity Prep and its growth, while also leading the expansion of virtual and hybrid options for the district in the future.
